Media Links, the 2014 Technology and Engineering Emmy® Award winner, and the market leader in media and data transport over IP solutions will demonstrate an innovative “Live Remote Production IP Delivery” concept at SMPTE 2015, booth #A-03. The new products will compliment existing MD8000 based networks and will drive the next generation of media delivery via innovative IP technology.

Media Links will be showing live, uncompressed 4K through its MDX core switch. In addition, a “Live-to-File” delivery workflow and the H.264 compression codec will be unveiled in Sydney. These innovations enable leading edge 4K media transport and allow for efficiency gains in broadcast production workflows.

The 4K media delivery is through an MDX non-blocking switching platform that offers a high-density port count with ultra low latency. The Layer 2 / Layer 3 switch supports four 40GbE ports in addition to forty-four 10GbE ports. The 2RU chassis is developed for high availability and rapid provisioning of mission critical media services.

The “Live-to-File” capability allows for adoption of an all-IP workflow and promotes interoperability through SMPTE-2022 encapsulated packets. Efficiencies can be gained in broadcast production, studio editing, media streaming, and play-out functions.

H.264 compression is now available for the Universal Series of video modules. A high quality video is attained with the use of relatively low bit rates. The efficient codec is suitable for distribution applications.

Media Links is actively involved with interop committees for the standardization and advancement of broadcast technologies. Media Links participates in a number of events, giving broadcasters and network service providers the opportunity to speak directly with representatives.

Our Media Links team will be at SMPTE 2015, stand number A-03. Book an appointment – email: sales@medialinksaustralia.com.au
